Nico Antwerp’s work is AI on acid. His approach to AI video generation and 2D kinetic typography isn’t about portraits or cute animations—it’s bold, structured, and graphic. A whole new way to think about branding and motion.
His latest compilation takes it even further, blending design, motion, and music into something next-level. Had to share this one.
Nico Antwerp
Music is such a big part of my creative process. I record music on Ableton because, for me, it’s the musical equivalent of After Effects or Cavalry. It lets me completely f*** up sounds—for example, I can morph a violin into a granular acid synth. I have a Korg MS20, which is gritty and textured, especially when paired with guitar pedals that add unique character to its sound.

What I enjoy most is sampling—recording sounds with a Zoom H4n mic, layering them onto the timeline and adding so many effects that the original sound becomes completely transformed. I play and record music in the evenings, creating loops and layering them. These jams often become the music for my videos.
When I work on my explorations inside After Effects, Cinema4D, TouchDesigner and Cavalry, I like setting myself challenges—like creating a series of 10 motion pieces with a similar concept. Once I’ve got a structure, I refine it in Premiere to fit the music. I’ve written a lot of music in the past, arranged songs that I’m now bringing to life again in video form.
